Sedation is not grooming - it’s a medical intervention. And for routine grooming, we believe it should never be the answer.

Cats deserve to be awake, aware, and in control of their bodies during grooming.
Our approach is built on patience, skill, and respect - not drugs.

Why We Don’t Sedate Cats
Sedation can mask fear, stress, and discomfort - but it doesn’t resolve them.
While a sedated cat may appear calm, they are unable to communicate, respond, or consent.
Grooming should never require shutting a cat down to get through it.

Instead of asking “How do we make this cat compliant?”
We ask, “How do we make this cat feel safe?”

That difference changes everything.

A Safer, Kinder Approach
By refusing sedation, we commit to doing grooming the right way:

- Working slowly and reading feline body language
- Allowing breaks when a cat needs them
- Never forcing a cat through fear or panic
- Ending the session if the cat tells us they’re done

This approach protects your cat’s physical safety, emotional well‑being, and long‑term trust.

“But My Cat Was Told They Need Sedation…”
We hear this all the time - and most of the time, it isn’t true.
Many cats are labeled “aggressive,” “ungroomable,” or “in need of sedation” simply because:

- They were groomed in loud, dog‑filled salons
- They were rushed or restrained
- Their stress signals were ignored
- They were pushed past their limits

When cats are groomed in a calm, cats‑only environment - with patience and skill - most do far better than anyone expects.

What Happens Instead of Sedation?
We rely on:

- A quiet, cats‑only environment
- Gentle, respectful handling
- Cat‑led pacing
- Experience with anxious, senior, and “spicy” cats
- Trust built over time, not forced in one visit

If a cat becomes too stressed, we stop.
Because emotional safety always comes first.

Important Policy Notice
For your cat’s safety:

Please do not give your cat tranquilizers, sedatives, CBD, or calming drugs before their appointment.
Cats arriving under the influence of sedation or mind‑altering substances will be sent home and rescheduled.

We need your cat fully present so we can accurately read their body language and keep them safe.
