Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Catastrophe Cats website and all grooming services provided by Catastrophe Cats, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking an appointment, visiting our website, or receiving services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Definitions

  • Client - the person booking or authorizing services.

  • Pet / Cat - the animal receiving grooming services.

  • Grooming Services - any service performed on a cat, including bathing, brushing, nail trimming, shaving, de‑matting, or handling.

3. Acceptable Use of the Site

You agree not to use our website for unlawful, harmful, or disruptive purposes, including:

  • Uploading harmful or fraudulent content

  • Violating intellectual property rights

  • Attempting unauthorized access

  • Interfering with website functionality

 

We may suspend access for violations.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on our website - including text, images, logos, videos, and branding - is owned by Catastrophe Cats, LLC. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute it without written permission.

 

5. User Contributions

If you submit photos, reviews, or other content, you confirm that:

  • You own the content or have permission to share it

  • It does not violate the rights of others

  • It is lawful and appropriate

​6. Grooming Policies and Owner Responsibilities

6.1 Health & Medical Disclosure

Clients must disclose all known medical conditions, behavioral concerns, allergies, injuries, or sensitivities, including:

  • Heart conditions

  • Seizures

  • Respiratory issues

  • Senior or fragile cats

  • Aggression or fear‑based behaviors

  • Recent surgeries or injuries

 

We are not liable for issues arising from undisclosed conditions.

6.2 Senior, Anxious, or Medically Fragile Cats

We specialize in gentle, low‑stress grooming. However, some cats may not tolerate handling. If a cat becomes distressed, aggressive, or unsafe to continue, we may stop the service. Partial or full fees may still apply.

6.3 Matting & Shave‑Down Policy

Severe matting poses risks including:

  • Skin irritation

  • Nicks or cuts

  • Uneven coat appearance

  • Behavioral stress

By booking, you acknowledge these risks and authorize us to perform a shave‑down if necessary.

​6.4 Safety & Handling

We do not use sedation. If a cat becomes unsafe to handle, we may end the appointment. We reserve the right to refuse service at any time for safety reasons.

6.5 Emergency Veterinary Care

If a medical emergency occurs, we will attempt to contact you. If unreachable, you authorize us to seek veterinary care at your expense.

7. Booking, Cancellations & No-Shows

 

7.1 Cancellations

Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time may incur a fee.

7.2 No‑Shows

No‑shows may be charged the full appointment cost.

7.3 Late Arrivals

Late arrivals may result in:

  • A shortened appointment, or

  • Rescheduling (fees may apply)

7.4 Deposits

If deposits are required, they are non‑refundable unless otherwise stated.

8. Sales of Services

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. We reserve the right to modify, reject, or cancel any order. Refunds are issued only if a prepaid service is canceled by us.

9. Payments

We accept: Credit Card, Debit, Direct Debit, Check, Tap‑to‑Pay, Apple Pay, Cash App Venmo, and Cash.

By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the selected method.

10. Guarantees

We offer a Free Follow‑Up Appointment within 7 days to allow your cat to decompress and to address any adjustments you request.

 

This guarantee does not apply to:

 

  • Matting‑related shave‑downs

  • Services stopped for safety reasons

  • Behavioral limitations

11. Photo & Video Release

We may photograph or video your cat for documentation, safety, or promotional use. You may opt out of public use at any time by notifying us in writing.

12. Limitations of Liability

Catastrophe Cats, LLC is not liable for injuries, conditions, or reactions that occur during or after grooming, including those resulting from:

  • Pre‑existing conditions

  • Matting

  • Owner‑requested shave‑downs

  • Behavioral stress

  • Undisclosed medical issues

 

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Catastrophe Cats, LLC harmless from claims arising from your use of the website or services.

15. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.

16. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to attempt mediation with a mutually acceptable mediator. Small claims and injunctive relief remain available.

17. Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining Terms remain in effect.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website with a new effective date.
